Recently, well, more like the past few months, I have been thinking about what type of blogger I want to be. For instance; do I want to be the type of blogger that blogs every day, twice a week, perhaps whenever I have time, or maybe one big post per week? And then I think, well... do I do long posts, short posts, whatever I feel like? But do people like consistence posts, or do they like the randomness?
I decided to ask you guys- what type do you enjoy following? And what type do you guys enjoy reading?

Chester's Gift
I gave Chester some treats for his birthday; carrots, oats and alfalfa pellets.
Yum, if you're a horse!
He went for the alfalfa pellets at first.... (plus I think that is what he saw first)...next the oats. I think those were his favorite.
The alfalfa pellets took him a little bit to chew.
He didn't even touch the carrots. Probably because he gets those more often.
I was going to give him a little bit of his grain but realized it was in the back of the truck which wasn't at home. I was also going to give him cracked corn-But, I looked it up online to see if horses can have it, and some people said they gave it to them as a treat (so yes) and some said at least not a lot of it. Because corn is high in sugar so it gives them a lot of energy!
I decided to wait on the corn and he enjoyed the stuff I did give him. What do you guys think about corn~and horses?
Happy Birthday Chester!

We're 18 Today; It's Our Birthday!
It's our Birthday today! We are both eighteen! We were both born in 1995 and by God's grace have lived 18 wonderful years! I met and got Chester on December 10, 2011 and have had him ever since! We are perfect for each other and I could not have gotten or wanted a better first horse.
Happy Birthday Chester!
I actually don't know when his birthday is. But I decided to celebrate it with mine sense we're the same age!
You all have a great day- as it's one of my favorite days of the year!

Last Days Of Summer
Awwwww, were as summer gone? Please don't tell me school is starting and everyone is settling down for our cool Fall and wet winter!!
Ashly (my sister) was out taking pictures the other day and took some of Chester.
He's letting me know he's ready to come in from the pasture and is testing his boundaries. The fence is not on. = )Oh, you're looking at me? I'm a good boy, see?
Please take me in!
Ashly took some neat pictures with grass, and then me and Chester in the back round.
Putting on his halter, looks kinda weird there but I just have the bottom part hooked on his nose. =)
We're in sink! (Pardon my weird face.)
Waiten for my girl to untie the fence.
What fun things have you done this summer? Any horse plans for this Fall?
I am going to be focusing on ridding lessons with Chester this Fall and working on my senior year in high school. When school gets you down you can always count on your horsey friend to rise your spirits!

Me And Chester Boy!
He knew the flash was coming, that's why his eyes are so big! Poor guy, a little bit after that I turned the flash off. He didn't budge with it though! That's my boy!

More like Christ, And More Like A Cowgirl.
But why, I ask, would anyone want to do it over again? To ride, get sore, and per chance do it a third time? Because, you're not riding a bike, a car, a plane or anything of the sort. You are riding a horse which feels like you are on the wings of the wind. Which can become apart of you, one with you, and wrap it's self around you. It brings you the joy of being free. It makes you stronger, braver and more confident. It makes love grow in you, helps patience to flow like streams of water within you. To be able to connect with something and someone.
You do it again because you want to become the confident rider you have always dreamed to be. To be one with your horse and friend. To be able to guide them trustfully through the many valleys that life takes you through.
To be, a cowgirl. A cowgirl for Christ
"Have you given the horse its strength or clothed its neck with a flowing mane? Did you give it the ability to leap like a locust? Its majestic snorting is terrifying! It paws the earth and rejoices in its strength when it charges out to battle. It laughs at fear and is unafraid."
-The book of Job-
I have so many goals I want to accomplish with Chester. From learning how to barrel race, (not at top speed, I think his prime days for barrel racing is up) to having a very close bond. I think we are getting closer in our relationship everyday. I am trusting him more and he is respecting me more.
I have already put this quote and picture up, but it doesn't hurt to put it up again. I think one of the main things with horses is, if you want to see improvement, work with them very. single. day.
I hope that next year at this time I will find myself, more like Christ and more like a cowgirl.

My First Video!
I am so excited to be making this post! And I am so excited to show you all this video!
This is the first video I have made- I am mainly excited about the stuff I designed more then the video itself. I am still learning how to talk on camera without saying um a lot. =)
Please let me know what you think-and, give me some ideas of what to film next.
Sorry about the plane in the back round! When my parents were watching it, they were like, "is that a plane?" This turned out to be the best video so I went with it! (If the movie is choppy, go watch it on youtube, Here.)
Oh and go to my YouTube channel to subscribe! =) Would love it if you did!
Yesterday we went to ground work lessons and it went well. It turned out to be half ground work and half riding lesson! My first one at Shadows Equestrian! It was very fun and exciting. I rode Chester for a little bit and then I rode another horse for a good while.
Before I started riding, Dani got on Chester. Right after she got on she noticed, and also did, that he was walking weird. It sorta looks like he's limping on his back left leg but he is showing no sign of pain. (And as you know, he just got adjusted and has been doing lots better.) He does have arthritis, so it could be that, but we don't know why he is walking like that. It could just be the way he walks. As for right now, that is what we think. We are going to take it slow and see how it goes. I will have one more ground work/riding lesson and then switch to only riding lessons. So excited!!
~ My Goal.....barrel racing!
I already posted this but I thought I would post it again. =)
I want to do gaming over all but barrel racing to be specific.
My first riding lesson was the highlight of my week! What has been your highlight so far?

Lunging Chester On A Sunny Day!
I took a video of Chester on the lunge line, to show you how good he feels after being adjusted. It did wonders! He's more willing to do things now.....like go fast! I knew he liked to go fast, but that is normally when we are going for a barrel. Now, he likes to get going whenever he can!
Sorry for all the clucking and kissing, it's really hard to lunge a horse and hold a camera. Trust me! I think he was deciding if he should take me seriously or not. He eventually got up to a canter though. And I wanted to show you guys his pain free canter! = ) I love it! So much more relaxed!
The flies were really bad that day. I have a fly mask that I put on him when we're not working.
I have been feeding Chester more hay to fatten him up for the winter. He has been thoroughly loving it! Tonight we are going to ground work lessons so he will get a work out. Not that he is fat, he is far from that! I would love to see the day when someone looks at my horse and says, "wow, he's a little plump, wouldn't you say?"

The Country Hitching Post: Turned Horsey
I decided to make The Country Hitching Post, an all horse blog. So from now on I will be posting anything horse. From pictures to quotes or even articles. But mainly, about my horse Chester. About the daily things I do with him and our adventures together.
If you would like to see other things that are going on around the farm, besides the horsin around, go to my website called Country Girl.
Ya'll have a fantastic day!
