Day Thirty

Day Thirty- Your future with horses

My future with horses belongs to the Lord. I do have things I want to accomplish. Such as; I would love to know how to game before I'm done with the horse world. Like, do it. ;) Have a great relationship with my horse. (I already do, but I still want to work on a closer one.) Make tons of memories. (Which I have done already.) Have lots of fun adventures. Like trail riding and what not!
Just owning a horse has fulfilled my dream. It's been amazing and I have learned tons! I would really love to become a confident rider. To become a confident, accurate (doing things properly) rider in the near future, would be great!
Chester is so willing, gentle, knowledgeable and such a perfect first horse for me- he can fulfill most/all my dreams!

This is day thirty, finally! Thanks ya'll for sticking with me as I made my way through this challenge. One of the reasons I did it, was so I had something to blog about; as I was running out of idea's and there wasn't much going on with Chester and all.
It was fun- even though I wasn't super consistent with it. ;)

Merry Christmas!!

Luke 2: 4-20

Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child. While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.”
When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, “Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us.” So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger. When they had seen this, they made known the statement which had been told them about this Child. And all who heard it wondered at the things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart. The shepherds went back, glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen, just as had been told them.

                                       Merry Christmas everyone!!

May the Lord bless you all on this wonderful Christmas!

Sending the best Christmas wishes to all my followers, friends and family!

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!

It's one of my favorite times of the year right now. It's the most wonderful time of the year! The time of year when we celebrate our Saviors birth!
One of the reasons I love this time of year, (besides celebrating Christs birth) is that everyone is happy, cheerful, nice and more polite then normal. People smile at you, say merry Christmas or happy holidays! It's so sad that people save there joyful spirits for this time of year. We should be celebrating Christmas every day and carry the joy of the season throughout the year!
I hope that anyone can see the joy of the Lord in me everyday and not only at Christmas time.

Another thing I love about this time of year, is the gift giving. I LOVE giving gifts. I love the smiles and laughter they bring. I have done lots of Christmas shopping this year and can't wait till all the secrets are out! =)
On Christmas day, I usually give Chester treats. Oats, carrots, extra grain and peppermint treats if I have any. Like I have said before, my horse is a picky eater. =( Other wise I would give him apples and other fun stuff.
I haven't gotten my horse any gifts though. In February there is a big used tack sale and I will hopefully be getting some tack there. So those can be his late Christmas gifts. =)
I have thought about getting him a hat or reindeer antlers but haven't spent the money on that yet....

What do you guys get your horses for Christmas? Do you do anything special with them?

Isn't this the sweetest picture ever?!? I LOVE it!

I thought this one was a fun one. =)

Can you imagine, if you were the one that came down on Christmas day to find this, under your tree?!

Day Twenty-Nine

Day Twenty-Nine- Favorite brands...boots, breeches, tops, helmets. ect.

I don't have any favorite brands. The cowgirl hat I have is a Stetson. So, I guess that's my favorite brand of hat. =) Boots....I got my boots at Beth's Western. It's a nice place! Haven't ever gotten breeches, tops or a helmet yet. I use a bike helmet right now. I know, totally out of fashion. But you do what you gotta do!
I love country outfitters boots! They are beautiful! I haven't owned any but they sure are pretty!

One more day! =)

Day Twenty-Eight

Day Twenty-eight- Helmet or no helmet

I'm a helmet person. I'd rather be safe then sorry. Horses=unpredictable. So, I use a helmet so when I fall off, get bucked off or Chester spooks, I will be safe or less hurt. My riding teacher fell off a horse WITH a helmet on. She got a concussion and was out for weeks. At the least two months but I know she was out much longer then that.

I'd rather wear a helmet then....get a concussion, get paralyzed, die and whatever else! =)
I'm a helmet person! haha!

Go helmets! See, they're not that bad! =)

Day Twenty-Seven

Day Twenty-Seven-You know you're an equestrian when....(list five things)

When you can't watch a horse movie without analyzing the horse, watching the horses reactions to certain things, watching really closely the person working with the horse and seeing how they do things.

You cluck to other animals and treat them like a horse.

You look at peoples barns as you drive by.

You can spot every horse trailer that passes you on the road. (I don't think one can pass our car without me seeing it.) =)

When you can smell hay and tell if it's good. Stale, sweet, rotten, ect.

You spot a green open field and think how wonderful it would be to ride in it, and how many horses it could feed.

When you own over four different types of boots. (Cowboy boots, mud boots, work boots, snow boots and dress cowgirl boots.)

You love burying your face in the fur of a fuzzy horse. (And taking a deep breath!!) =)

You love the smell of horses and leather!

Day Twenty-Six

Day Twenty-Six- Biggest riding pet peeve

I don't think I really have an exact riding pet peeve. Ok, there are a couple things like- I like my reins "perfect" all the time. I can't stand when they're not neat and when I'm not holding them correctly. I feel like I don't have complete control of my horse. But, I think that is still the beginner side of me. Sense I haven't been riding for years and years I don't have it down completely.
When I ride I have to have my hair in a pony-tail. I can't stand it sprawling everywhere, from under my helmet.
And...that's all I can think of right now! =)

Day Twenty-Five

Day Twenty-five- Your dream trailer

Here's my dream trailer....

Ok, I know this is a crazy trailer! But hey, they said your dream trailer! =)

This is the same one as above, just white. Plus, it has more doors open.

Alright, going to, REALITY now....=)

I would love to own a trailer like this!
This is a nice, safe, (more practical) trailer that I wouldn't mind owning. =)

Day Twenty-Four

Day Twenty-four- Your best riding buddy.

Can my horse count? haha! I think they mean people though...I don't have a riding buddy. My friend and I, ever since I got Chester, have wanted to go on a trail ride. But we never have...I do hope to some day though! We share our riding experiences with each other and tell of our horse adventures we have with our steeds. And of course, I have asked her LOTS of horse questions over the past two years. Not so much anymore though. (She has had horses most of her life, so she has had lots of experience.)
She was the one that came with me to check out Chester and bring him home. I would consider her my best riding buddy. She has taught me a lot of what I know about horses.
But, my wonderful dad and youngest sister, I would consider my riding buddies too! My dad trailer-ed me and Chester for about three months, to ground work lessons and just to ride at the arena. My youngest sister came along and cheered us on! I think she would love to join us!

Those- my dad, Annie (youngest sister) and my horsey friend, are my best riding buddies!

Day Twenty-Three

Day Twenty-Three- First horse you rode

The first horse I rode was my cousins horse. My Aunt and Uncle owned a few horses when their kids were younger. We visited them and I  got to ride my first horse when I was about five. Not quite sure how old I was but I wasn't older then six years old.
I don't have any picture to share. If we do somewhere, they are printed out photographs. =)
It was most likely summer time then, and it was in eastern Washington. Which means, it was hot and dry! It just seems like "horse" weather. haha!

Second Flash Back

Ok guys, the holidays found me and have been attacking me ever since. I'm hoping to step up and do quite a few posts this week, but we'll see! ;)
Here's the second flash back for the second year. It's not necessarily, from, the second year, just the second, "flash back." = )

                                                                Springtime (2012)

Summertime! (2012) We both look so young! haha!

He's eyeing the grass....=) Ya, that's my boy for ya! Isn't he pretty though!?

                                                Same day as pictures above....

Wish I wasn't slouching as much. =)

This is right in the middle of the summer. When the grass in the valley is really tall. It gets 6 feet easily.

                                                                     He loved it!

This past summer he didn't want to stay out there because he was barn sour. =/

                                                                   Horse heaven!

                                                                       Yum!

We did a photo shoot when I got a new bridle. That was around September last year.

Ok, so this next group of photos are one of my favorite photo shoots. I know that some of them are blurry. But! There are some great ones!=)

                                                               love this one!

                                                               And this one!

Ok, I love all of them!

Last winter....

Still last winter/spring

Onto more recent pictures- starting with this spring. (2013)

I think this is a cool one.

Really fuzzy! Mane and tail all braided up! I don't braid his mane and tail that often because I think it makes him look like a mare. =) But I love the waves they make in his hair though!

My dad took this picture- I was hanging out with Chester and reading a horse training book.

My dirty beast. This was early summer. I think....

I cutie!
This was...hmmm...basically summer? Maybe? I think he's about all shedded out but by the looks of his muddy hooves, it's not too warm out yet.

Now for some really recent photos.

A fall day

                                                                     At the arena!

                                                                 Loads of fun!

                                                                    Selfie!
He was mid blink or falling asleep. haha!

I love my boy! (I know, my cinch was off there.) =/

                                                                Driving cattle!

(These recent pictures are not quite in order of how they happened.)

Cow fun! We're watching a cow jump and bend a panel and then escape.

                                                  His/our birthday! Yummy treats!

One of my favorite pictures of him!!

This summer...heading back up to his yard.

                                                                      This summer-

Now these are the, most recent, pictures I have of him. They were kind of goofy ones. =)

                                                    He's super fuzzy right now!

                                                            See that tongue?! ;)

I put my scarf on him- he was so cute and patient! =)

These are the most recent, nice pictures I have of us.

Thanks for flashing back with me. I know I had a million pictures. Trust me, I can't take just one! haha! It's not possible with me. =)

Just a quick side note- I am going to finish up the thirty day challenge. I have been quite busy and have not had time to do blog posts. =)
Have a great day ya'll!
